Borrowed my brothers cva hawken triggers and now when i reinstalled the assembly into his gun, the hammer wont fall, its like the trigger isnt hitting the sear to set the hammer down unless i pull hard. Already fiddled with the screws and such, nothing.

Any ideas?

Look at the inletting for the lock. I betcha when you get it all tightened down the triggering arm is being hung up on the wood on the other side.
Taking a small chisel or knife to the area to remove some of the wood is easy enough.

Remember the damage a tight tang screw can do - leading to negligent discharges. I had two before I figured and fixed it the first time, and two more a year and a half later. Then I fixed it properly with inset hardwood blocks to hold .

The CVA generally has a very small timber bearing area at the front of the trigger assembly and a tight tang screw compresses it,changing the relationship of trigger blade to sear over time, until the sear is hardly engaging the tumbler at all.

It's funny how we come to know a firearm's Quirks over time. This is another thing that sets MLR shooters apart from others. I know shooters on modern rifles that have never had their rifles out of the stock! Geo. T.

that is just bizarre to me

Back when I had modern guns one of the first things I would do when it was new to me is take it all the way down to single parts, oil them and put it all back together.

I can't imagine having a firearm around me for long and not tearing it down to look at its workings.
