Hey fellers, got a show coming up and just got done with a knife and sheath we've been workin on (on & off) for over a year. We saw it in one of our reference books and thought it would make a neat project.
The Dag was hand forged to shape from an old leaf spring, then drawfiled and sanded to 320 grit. I left some of the forge marks to add to the authenticity. The handle is a piece of wormy chestnut that came from a friends old barn roof. a few old silver tin backing beads that Miss Tudy had were added to dress it up.
Now, the sheath was hand sewn and beaded by my better half (way better  ) using a lazy stitch over buckskin. Tudy used old stock Czech glass beads and the drops have more of the same with turquoise added.
When it was all done, she did her usual aging tricks to it. Overall it is 14" and the beaded part of the sheath is 10". Hope y'all like, and as always, thanks for looking...Bud
