What's wrong with this stuff? I have four cans right now, the stuff keeps 'clumping' in the can. I thought it might be moisture, so I put large silica gel packs in the cans. Still clumping up... I'm not sure about it being moisture now, it still shoots fine, I just have to bust the clumps up. Any ideas? My Goex and Triple Seven doesn't do this.

I've never noticed that to happen. Does it feel moist at all?
Maybe the powder has absorbed some mosture and the gel packs just cannot absorb & remove it entirely.
Whenever I pour some into a flask, I try to tightly close the lid right away.

I've never had that problem in the can. But whenever the weather is on the damp side, I don't use it. I've had a few instances of it not firing when I want it to. I stick to black powder in those situations. Other than that, I am not hestitant about using Pyrodex.

mine does that, I try to keep it tightly sealed. clumps break up easy enuff and does'nt seem to affect it any.

It must be humidity, maybe I should dry the silica. It's weird that it doesn't seem to effect performance. Of course, I don't have a chronograph, so I can't say for sure.

Hey Blizzard, I drive through the Pisgah on I-26 about twice a month, anyone in that area sell real black powder, that you know of? I'm coming from Knoxville to Gastonia.

I have never had that problem either. I live in the most humid climate in the US!

I use Pyrodex as a filler powder, and mix Goex fffg with Pyro fffg.

I really noticed the downsides to Pyrodex when shooting cannon blanks, doesn't go boom!
