It is rifled, 6 groves, not the deepest groves but it is not exactly a long range gun.Cool! Did you groove the bore, or is it smooth?

Agreed. It's looks great. It will look even better when the temporary phillips screw are replaced!
From what I have read, originally they were just a pistol built by Deringer, but as small concealable guns gained popularity the general name for small pistols became derringers. Back in the day there were not as many people overly concerned with the exact spelling of words so I suspect that is where the extra r came in. Or that is what I can figure, a lot of records are not very clear back then. It's Derringer, but it is named after the gunsmith Henry Deringer Junior. Why it's two R's when you are naming the gun & one R when you name the smith who invented it is a mystery to me. Someone here may know the "story" behind that & ease my curiosity.
Thanks.Awesome !! Wish I had one.
Great Job
You have so much skill! Thank you for sharing.I will have to post the rest when I finish.
Ummmm, to be correct, it's "derringer". Lower case d and two r's
The maker is Deringer while the gun is a derringer. Henry Deringer made pistols and rifles. His trade rifles were very popular and well made.Ummmm, to be correct, it's "derringer". Lower case d and two r's.
