Thanks Chris - I like re-entry targets - like you said, everyone likes a second chance after you pull a shot! Since the stakes are so high, why not!

I shot my target this afternoon, it was 41deg and a bit blustery here in Kansas but being the first time I've been on the range all year it was worth it! I did some plinking beforehand and I was being bedeviled by hang fires, after about 20 shots I was about ready to give up when I finally had the thought to prime with the 2f in my horn rather than the 4f in my pan charger! Viola!! Click BANG!! No more pssssssssst bang! Looks like I need to put fresh 4f in the pan charger, what's in it is over 2 years old and must have gotten a bit of moisture in it.

This target was alot of fun and a real challenge. The tops of the trees and the mooses noses were maddeningly hard to hold a good sight picture on and I may have mumbled some things under my breath and lowered my rifle more than once to try again.

Anyway,
51pts, Pedersoli Pennsylvania Rifle .50cal flintlock, 60gr FFG Goex, .490 swaged ball, .015 patch, Mr. Flintlock Lube.

Nice target Chris! I believe 51 points is a good score for these small figures! I'm driving back to Georgia tomorrow and was hoping to shoot later this week but the weather isn't looking too good until next week - can you tell I'm a fair weather shooter?

Merry Christmas

Gary

Yep I know now there are 11 shots. Shot over two days. Lost count. Never my strong suit. I was going to shoot a new target but the weather is deteriorating.
Thanks for keeping this going.

Only a few more days to shoot this target - I am planning to go shoot on Friday as the weather warms up a bit.

Posting the January target today if anyone wants to save gas and shoot them at the same time:thumb:

Surprised you could shoot this as cold as it must be up there! Thanks for posting and I hope you enjoyed shooting it. January target should be a little easier on the eyes!

I had the same thing happen. People wanting to talk. And way too crowded for my liking. Its a small range with four tables and I counted 14 people shooting or waiting.

At least we got some targets posted!

The year is almost over - can't believe how quickly 2022 has slipped by! Trying to make a target that is visible and a little challenging for December. Since hunting season is upon us, this month you will be shooting at some moose, birds and fir trees. (Figure a few trees get shot when shooting at the deer/moose/elk!)

10 shots for score - white circles score 10 or 8 pts as shown. Hits in the black score 5 pts. 1/2 the ball diameter must be inside the scoring area to count. Max score is 88 pts.

Shoot offhand at 25 yds for rifle and 15 yds for pistols. If you have a disability and cannot stand and shoot offhand you are welcome to shoot from the sitting position. Shoot as many targets as you like but only post your best target to the forum.

Score your own targets and write your rifle/pistol information on the target along with load data. Please post pictures of your rifle/pistol - I like seeing what everyone is shooting!

I have been enjoying these matches and thanks to everyone that participates. I wish you all a blessed holiday season.

Gary
Merry Christmas to all the shooters. That reindeer on the bottom left must be Prancer, he dodged just about all my bullets. Thanks again for making this happen.

I made it out shooting -27F. Just before sunset I made the 400 yard walk to the range.
My rifle did seem to load easily. Like a clean barrel every shot.
Impossible to touch any metal as it felt like it was made of fire.. Trigger-finger hurt within seconds.
Great to be alive and shooting!
Happy New Year Everyone.
