Did anyone read this months Deer and Deer Hunting magazine article by Toby Bridges about muzzleloaders and how states that don't allow scopes, inlines, sabots, etc. are doing a disservice to people for the special ml season. He then went on to say how a patched round ball is not a good round to use since it lacks enough energy out beyond 50 to 100 yds and how people that do use them are wounding deer and not getting them. Too much to go into here but if you get a chance and want to raise your blood pressure give it a read.

Yes, just read it and it's disgusting...he sure has turned his hat around from years ago when he used to publish some regular ML material.

But his current behavior should not surprise us after the way he tried to get hold up Savage...and...from Deer & Deer Hunting Mags perspective, do you think inline money, trips, rifles, etc, were even remotely associated with his article?

I am sure it was, but to slam PC hunters, I find that offensive. We have enough problems with the regular antis, don't need fellow hunters making statements like he made.

well I'm not even going to waste my time commenting the man and his ideals, to me they were just plane wrong, he seemed to bash black powder users as a real minority, it might be so but us minority still has a voice and it shall be heard, remember the shot that was heard around the world?

Just read the yearly "muzzleloader" edition they put out. The article in there about the different black powder substitutes makes it sound like regular black powder use is now just about non-existant. Guess they figure all the re-enactors, living history buffs, flintlock hunters, etc., have just dried up and disappeared. 95% of the mag was modern in-line stuff. A little blurb at the end in black and white about traditional hunting. I see no need to check out this special publication anymore. (Charlie Brown Christmas story, just presented another way. Its all commercialized $$$$$$$$). :m2c:

Like Gates Co.Freetrapper I was disapointed and most likly
will not get another their regular d&dh magazine is good.bb75

I read one time that the round ball was like a bumble bee's.A teacher I had long ago sed Bumble Bee's body's are all wrong for the surface of there wings and should not be able to fly but you see them doing it all the time.I have listened to alot of round ball debate about how they shouldent (couldent) work but the thing is just about evryone here has picture's to prove diffrent.I agree it's about money
