Today Jan.29, 2006 I just returned from a day of hunting with my .50 cal cap lock. Put more meat in the freezer this is number two for the year. Season closes at 30 minutes past sun set on the 31st of Jan so that gives me two more days to put number three in the freezer. My oldest Daughter wants to go so Tuesdays the 30th they get out of school early so you know what we will be doing!! Teaching another child the art of Black powder hunting.
Thanks Juggernaut

Goodluck and hope the weather stays clear(overcast with rain here in lower Alabama).I got a ten point on opening day and a doe yesterday-1/28.(the doe was my first deer with primitive bow & flint arrow!)My wife doesn't like venision. She had a taste of tainted meat years before she met me.I donated most of my meat to hunters for the hungery program. My season ends Jan 31st also but I gotta work :( .Enjoy and keep us posted. :v

Best of Luck. This season was my Son's first Deer Hunt, didn't get anything .... but we had a great time in the woods and a better time at the Breakfast Place with some Hot CoCo

Hope you and your Daughter have a great time.

Thanks guys for all your input,I have really enjoyed this site becouse all you good fellow sportsmen, Yes daughter and I are Planing the hunt for tomorrow as I type this. She is pumped and ready to go. Tomorrow is the last day of the season. Then we will be gearing up to finish up squirel hunting and then go into Turkeys. I use a .32 flintlock for the bushy tails and a 12 ga. double barrel muzzleloader for the turkey.

I have 400 acres in northern Miss for hunting, Any of you want to join me you are all welcome.
