I am curious, viewing all these deer pics and just harvesting my first with a long bow today, I noticed that most if not all have their tongue hanging out. Does anyone know why? :blah: .

Well, since they don't have any fingers, it is their last jesture of defiance.

Because they don't have a middle finger.

A deer's tongue is about 3/4 of a foot long and when they die the muscle relaxes, allowing it to loll out.

I know of one site and a bowhunting magazine that won't post a picture with the tongue out. It's degrading of the deer's dignity.
