Any suggestions on a replacement ramrod for my Traditions Deerhunter 32 cal? It has that cheesy little black metal ramrod, which works just fine, but prefer some sort of a synthetic rod with fittings that looks better, and will still fit in the thimble and stock end? I use a range rod for general shooting but would like to find a better rod for use while hunting. Thanks!

I didn't see one on their website specifically for the 32 Deerhunter. Just order a longer one and saw it off the right length?

With some shopping you can find 1/4" Delrin. Order some fittings and you are in bizness. Just remember to pin the ends to the Delrin.

Good to know. Love my 32. 'Had' to buy one for my grandson, so he could come along. 50 was to much. Think of the children

That's what I did and I used the leftover portions to make a short starter.

Good ideas!
Any knowledge if a Delrin ramrod for a Crockett would fit into the thimble and stock of a Deerhunter (cut to proper length of course)?

I, too, used cut pieces of ramrods to make several short starters; and a couple of nice ramrods for my pistol as well.

.

I've been using a RR I made for my .32 about 15 years ago, w/o any wear/splitting issues.

I bought a 48" long fiberglas driveway marker of the correct diameter from HomeCheapo for a few dollars, cut it to length, and pinned/epoxied brass RR ends onto it (One RR end threaded internally for jags, the other RR end cupped to seat a PRB).
