I went to Grapevine today, and as I passed I35W and 170 I saw the new Cabela's under construction. The sign said opening Spring '05.
I'm north of Ft. Worth, so no more Bass Pro fighting Grapevine Mills traffic. :D
Soon, very soon!

The Cabela's in Buda, just south of Austin is supposed to open about the same time. I can't wait.

Hey Pepperbelly,

I know what ya mean about the Bass Pro Shop traffic in Grapevine. I live and work in about 5 minutes from it. The traffic is bad, but the traffic inside the store is even worse! There is nothing more frustrating than going in there to buy a tin of caps or a pound of powder and having to wait for 45 minutes in line. The funny thing is that there are about 10-15 checkout lanes and they only use 2 or 3 lanes at a time.

Hopefully Cabela's will be better in that regard.

My brother in law has to drive from north Dallas to Saginaw tonget home. He said around Christmas it took him 2 hrs. to get from 635 to 114.
I hope Cabelas is better in customer service. I am sure it will be at the start, but can they keep it up? I like to walk into a store for some stuff, but poor service keeps me ordering online. With a C&RFFL I get dealer prices from Midway and Brownell's anyway, so it doesn't take much for me to avoid a store.
