How far do you drive to get to regular scheduled event, and how far have you driven to get to a special or yearly event?

Montly shooting matches (2) are each about 45 miles one way. the furtherest I've gone is Georgia to Missouri for an American Mountain Rendezvous...about 10 hr. drive.

Have driven from Fla. to Montana, Wyoming and Colorado for Rend. events. Gone to Crow Agancy, Pine Ridge and other Eastern states for Powwows....all by my little lonesome self. :what: Hauling trailer and poles for an 18' and 15' tipi. You should hear my "broke down on the side of rode" stories.

Seventy miles round trip to Rendezvous Club Spring Shoot, then that again to Summer Rendezvous. 3 miles round trip to local range where we have our monthly muzzle loading shoots. 1100 miles (twice) to visit and watch the NMLRA National Shoots. The older I get, the less traveling I care to do. I'm not saying I won't travel, I just get fatigued making long trips and it seems to take a week or more to recover? Old age setting in I reckon? :hmm:

about a month ago went about 400 miles to a match. It was a 4 day event, i was there for 2 of the 4 due to work / travel time. Also had to stop and do some work with my part time job client on the way, so that took out the shooting time the first day. I will go again in late Feb-Early Mar, same group, same place, little bit different program, but still plenty of variety.

I'm fortunately very young & inexperienced (only 61)and don't know any better and can do those things.....
