I have the Dixie Gunworks Tennesee Mountain Rife in 50 caliber flintlock have been shooting it since the early 80,s. I would like to change caliber to a 32 caliber. I built a 62 caliber and have several 50 and 54 calibers too, but do not have any smaller calibers. Does anyone know where I could get a replacement barrel in 32 caliber for the Dixie Mountain Rifle?

I had one back in the mid '80s and if memory serves the barrel was a 15/16. I believe Green Mountain used to make a 15/16 in .40 caliber but that's about as small a caliber I recall seeing for an off the shelf 15/16 barrel. Of course anything can be custom made but that large a barrel in a .32 would make one barrel heavy rifle IMHO.

:idunno: I have a 36" 7/8 .36 barrel from Rice on my underhammer and I think it's heavy. I have to agree with Mark on the weight issue. my Deer rifle has a 36"15/16 .54 barrel and thats just about right. Unless yor looking to shoot it off the bench I'd suggest hitting the gunshows or the interwebs to find something built as a .32(of course I would suggest a .36, but thats just me) :stir: :eek:ff :rotf:

i just parted witha 36 cal barrel 15/16 across the flats it was ok for tripod target shooting but carry it around it was way to nose heavy

I picked one up at a pawn shop a couple years ago. I'm not a big fan of flint, nothing against them, just haven't had the time to put into them needed to know how to use it well. Anyway I couldn't pas it up, it felt so light and well balanced and it was at a good price too.
