Been doing some messing around with my Dixie Scout a lot lately, and I plan on writing a full review at some point. Though the gun is not at all historically accurate, it is reliable and fun to shoot. I haven't really figured out a solid load yet, but I've pretty much settled on 70 to 80 gr of 2F and 90 to 110 gr of #6 shot, with a bunch of variation on wedding. Gonna try out the Skychief special today and hopefully that'll tighten patterns a bit.

Anyone have any advice on good 12 ga cylinder bore loads?

70 gr 2F, OP card, 5/8 fiber wad, 1 1/2 oz #4 shot takes a turkey down every year for me, I'll be watching for your findings

Found my money load; 70gr of 2f, 4 overshot cards, 110 gr #6, overshot card and oil saturated cushion wad. I tried the standard Skychief load, and it did tighten patterns considerably, but I think the nitro card was blowing a hole in the center if my pattern creating a donut.

Dont mind the artwork, but I'll take that pattern out of a cylinder bore gun anyday! Also got great results shooting a steel can at 25 yards.

Now I just have to work on my Turkey calling skills!
