Here's a few pictures from Dixon's Gun Builders Fair taken today.
The first one is some of our forum members. That's me standing on the far left, Birdman is on the right. The others I can't remember their names. Maybe they can fill in the names.

The other pictures are of all the neat stuff.

it sure was a nice day on Sat when i was there as you can see from Johns pics there was some real sweet stuff there ! Wish I could met you guys maybe next year

Boy were there a hell of a lot of people there yesterday---I arrived around 9:45AM and had to park way over in the next county---that's probably one of the most crowded Saturday's for the ML Fair I have seen in many years. I picked up a few items that I "needed" in the line of small parts---but nothing really grabbed me and said " I'm yours, take me"---not even at TVM---two years ago it was a beautiful Tennessee Po'Boy in .40 flint---my favourite gun of the collection. As depicted there is an awful lot of "purty" merchandise---nothing I would take in the field---God forbid and put a scratch on it---a gun I won't shoot or hunt with because I am afraid to damage it is not my cup of tea. But, I keep returning each and every year as it's good to be with all those people who share my love for the Traditional ML. :front:

Yea you couldnt walk through some of them tents without rubbin butt 's with some folks  I also picked up some small items there was alot of nice stuff there

DANG, I so wanted to go. Even had the wife talked into going! Unfortunatly my better sense took over and I put the roof on my house this weekend that it desprately needed. grrr Sounds like it was a grand time though. Maybe next year.

Can anyone tell me if they saw any left handed flint long rifles for sale and if so any particulars on them (like who built them). That's what I was really going to look for and possibly buy.

Yeah, I was there Saturday also and picked up some neat items, like a fire starting kit and a carved powder measurer (my wife told me not to bring home a gun:cry:, as I had already acquired two this year). I was kind of disappointed in the seminars though as the facilities weren't the best.

bbassi

Check out these left handers. Can't tell you the price or who made them though. Sure are pretty. That white spot is fuzz on my lens I think.

As for me, I'll take these.

JSMosby - Thanks.....

Anybody else have any info?

Okay John,
The guy with the big hat on the left kneeling is volatpluvia. In the red shirt is DanL from Alabama. Behind Birdman on the right is RupePA. Left of him is Pennsyltucky. May be the other two can identfy themselves.
God bless.

You should have gone! I was surprised at how many left handed flinters I saw. I'm not a lefty, so I didn't really pay any attention to who had them or exactly what they were. I'll bet that you would have found something to your liking though.

Like you, I have a roof to get done, but sometimes you just have to set your priorities!
That roof is still there.

there was more of us there then i had seen....was there all 3 days and only meet bout 7 - 8 of ya guys and gals "blackpowder barbie"....ya know i seen ya guys taking that picture up on the hill but didn't know it was you guys....see ya next..........bob

Bob was the only one identifiable due to having a tee-shirt that said, uh...well... "Bob"!
Hey, why can't Musketman design a tee-shirt for us? :m2c:

T-Shirts would work.

BigPaGuy came up to me and asked if I was Mark Hogan because of the United Bowhunters T-shirt I was wearing.

He could have been a detective in another life. :)

Turns out we live real close to each other.

Sure wish some of you guys would have introduced yerselves while there. I was working Bob Winters flint knapping n bead tables. I had Birdman written on my ID badge. Maybe ya didn't notice it, ah well , as every year it was a lot of work but a real blast as well. Maybe next year we can set something up a bit more concrete for meeting. Bob I was one of the guys in the picture, ya should have stuck yer nose in n said howdy. Hee hee actually I probably got to talk with some of ya if you were buying flints n didn't even realize it. take care YMHS Birdman

Aha!, Birdman - now it makes sense... after seeing the photo (above), I remember seeing you at the table and HEARD your BIRD calls!!! ... but I didn't know it was "you" at the time.

I didn't meet up with any of you - didn't even see the "bob1961" t shirt! - maybe next year (I had my 4 year old son with me on Sat. - we were both in period clothes).

And I spoke briefly with you as you looked at the pile of horns. I commented that everyone has a talent it seems. Cool sounds. :)
