Has anyone acquired Dockyard tools stropping block? Is it a worthwhile tool?
So far I have had good results with some small ruby slip stones but the stropping block would seem to be easier to work with on the V tools and gauges.

I have the strop, it helps to maintain the edges. I’ve only had to replace 2 chisels from overuse.
WOW! You must do a lot of carving. My carving skills is minimal and the tools I use I have had for 35 years I use mostly for inletting of inlays and parts.

i had chipped two plough chisels on a teak stock years back, i blame the wood.

but yup i do bowls, plates, spoons, frames, toys, boxes w/ dovetails etc

Mine arrived today, sharpened two of the little gouges and it does add more sharpness than using just a leather strop with stropping compound. Wonder when I will need a band-aid?
