For those who shoot mainly smooth-bores I made up this design specifically for you. One side carries shot and the other will carry about twenty .600 R/B's. The bag measures 5 1/2" wide by 5" in height. The strap is 70" long by 7/8" wide and can be shortened with the hand forged iron buckle. Strap has not yet been sewn as the buyer will designate left or right side carry and then it will be correctly attached. All hard wear is iron. Bag is made from 7/8 Oz grade #1 tooling leather that was sewn with Barbour's Pure Flax Linen Sinew using a saddle stitch that was hand waxed with bees wax. After sewing the bag was wet sand formed and then dyed and waxed for years of service. (I carried mine for over 20 years)
Priced at $75.00 with free shipping to the lower 48 and AK.

SHOUT OUT TO Cutfingers - I just received a similar bag from him. Exceeds the standards by all measures. Most Excellent!!!! I cannot thank him enough!

( I think everyone already knows this, but I wanted to express my gratitude to him for an outstanding product)

Your work just keeps getting better and better.

My Port Mantau )?)" bag is one of the best things that I have.

I like it because being flat on the bottom it sits flat and does not fall over like a "man" bag. It has a strap on it so you can carry it on your shoulder.

Thanks. I still make them and there's a round one currently listed. It's Portmanteau which is French for "coat carrier".

Curious. Perhaps a ignorant question. How do you use the bag? I.E what purpose?

I have several and one is used for toiletries when at rendezvous and another for pipe smoking stuff. Two others are for when we travel and needed for junk I have to carry with me such as Meds.

Portmanteau, my French spelling is lacking. "Hooked on phonics" was not my friend.
.
Not as originally intended.

I use it as a possible's bag. It gets my deer hunting BP stuff from the truck to the deer blind. On top is a nice leather handle so a person can carry it like a purse if wished.

I had Cutfingers add a nice leather strap, 2" wide. At each end of the strap there is a nice brass snap fitting so it can be attached to each end of the bag. On the strap are 2 brass rings so that the strap can be adjusted for length.

Where I hunt we hunt out of what appears to be a small wood house/blind, thus I like a bag sitting upright. With the stiff leather sides and ends, everything is readily accessible inside. Easy to get your hand inside and easy to see inside also.

Another advantage to his bag is if you sit it on the ground it is sitting on the flat bottom versus a possible bag laying on it's back getting wet and dirty. Also you can turn it upside down and nothing is going to fall out and get lost.

I have 2 really nice Leatherman bags, but I like his better.

FishDFly. I assume you fly fish. I did so for about 30 years but not too much lately as my wife has difficulty getting around and I cannot leave her for too long. Made my own fly's, made a couple of rods (Sage blanks). I have an Orvis rod and reel I'm trying to sell but no luck so far. I'm patient so no hurry.

Fly fish only some now, still make fly's during the winter. Making them is like cheap therapy.

Put my concentration pistol shooting last 10 years or so.

I assume you are enjoying your retirement?

I changed names here when they re-vamped the place. You remember making a small belt bag from alligator with a yellow bead eye?

Yes and I think I have a picture of it somewhere. Quite a few years ago?
Can't fly tie any as my eyes will not handle 24s which were my favorites.
Retirement is great other than getting OLD. Oh well, as they say, "it beats the alternative".
