SOLD Double ball/shot bag

For those who shoot mainly smooth-bores I made up this design specifically for you. One side carries shot and the other will carry about twenty .600 R/B's. The bag measures 5 1/2" wide by 5" in height. The strap is 60" long by 5/8" wide and can be shortened with the solid brass buckle. All hard wear is solid brass.
Bag is made from 8/9 oz grade #1 tooling leather that was sewn with 100% pure linen thread using a saddle stitch that was hand waxed with bees wax.
After sewing the bag was wet sand formed and then dyed and waxed for years of service. (I carried mine for over 20 years)
The brass shot spout has a 3/8" hole that can be easily filled using a small funnel.

Curious how you carried the kit you needed to fire your smoothie while using this style bag. Since you mentioned it I figured I would ask...did you just carry this and also a pouch and horn?

My shooting bag was right hand carry and the loading shot/ball bag left hand. Never had an issue with accessing my pouch or loading. My horn was on a strap attached to my main shooting bag just above the opening as were the original bags I've seen. Sure you already know this but when running from an animal or an enemy it was great to hold your powder horn tucked under your arm. In my "kit" I carried extra lead and a melting spoon in the event I lost my shot/ball bag.

Makes perfect sense and you don’t have to run a huge, heavy, purse of a pouch to carry everything. By putting ball and shot on the opposite side it evens things out weight wise.

You got it. In my younger days I did a lot of runs at rendezvous and learned very quickly the value of lightweight. I also did a lot of research regarding what the original mountain men carried in their shooting bag which helped a lot.
