I've been shooting muzzleloaders for several years but always with Pyrodex or AP powder. Finally, found some black powder 2f, and had a lot of fun. I have a 50 cal rifle and a 12ga double barrel shotgun. Loaded the shotgun up using the info from stumpkiller with good results. Killed 2 tuna cans 1 spam can and several clay pidgeons. Next week I plan on using that same load on squirrels. Anyway had a good day shooting, now I better get to cleaning. Thanks for all the info I have received over the years reading everyones post.

As my oldest boy said; " Leave it to Dad to find a hobby that take one hour to do and three to clean up after!" You must keep black powder guns clean and oiled. But the smell of the black powder smoke is worth it. :idunno: :idunno:

Ohio Ramrod, your son sounds a lot like my two sons. But you are right it is all worth it. Looking forward to some cooler weather next week hope to do some squirrel hunting. Plus that cooler weather will make those rattle snakes hibernate.
