Down Time,
Gunting seasons are over, Its tooling cold to while away the hours out at the range, Particularly along the Northerntier of states and quite a few of the middle statuses web.
now is the time to go over your rifles. I hesitate to call them guns because most of the important "Guns" HAVE WHEELS., I USED TO GO OVER MY RIFLES AND GIVE THE STOCKS A GOOD RUB DOWN WITH A SOME BOILED LINSEED OIL WITH A TOUCH OFTURPENTINE AS A HINNER THAT AIDS IN PENETRATION. IT'S GOOD TO DO THIS RUB DOWN WITH TOUR BARE HAND. THE HEAT THIS GENERATED SEEMS TO HELP THE PROCESS. INSPECT AND DO A THOUGH CLEANING OF THE BARREL AND GO OVER THE MECHANISM OF YOUR LOCK, PERCUSSION OR FLINT.. CAN YOU SEE YOUR SIGHTS AGAINS A DARK OR LIGHT BACKGROUND?/
IF YOU WENT HUNTING AND SAW NOTHING THERE ISN'T MUCH YO CAN DO ABOUT THAT. IF YOU DID SEE SOMEMTHING, TOOK GOOD AIM, FIRED AND MISSED, THAT IS SOMETHING TO THINK ABOUT AND TO MAKE PLANS FOR MAKING ADJUSTMENTS WHEN, SURPRISINGLY SPRING ACTUALLY DOES ARRIVE, THE TEMPERATURES RISE AND YOU CAN GETOUT THERE AND FIGURE OUT HOW YOUPOSSIBLY COULD NAVE MISSED.
WE GET TRIUMPHANT REPORTS ON ONE SUCESS AFTER ANOTHER ON THE FORUM AND SEND OUR CONGRATILTIONS.
WHAT I WOULD FINF INTERESTION AS THE MORE EDUCATIONAL STORIES OF UNSUCCESS IN THE FACE OF EVERYTHING DONE RIGHT.
IN REVIEWING YOUR RIFLE STOCK, PAY EXTRA CAREFUL ATTENTION TO THE "NECK" OF THE STOCK OR THE SO CCALLED "GRIP" WHICH IS WHERE MANY OF THE STOCKS BREAK. . YOU DON'T WANT THE WOOD OF YOURSTOCK TO DRY OUT PARTICULARLY THERE..
YOU MIGHT WANT TO GO OVER THECLOTHES YOU WEAR DURING YOUR DAYS T THERANGE OR IN THE FIELD WHEN HUNTING. I NOTICED OCCASIONS WHEN MY PANTS BECOME TOO SMALL FOR COMFORT FOR NO PARTICULAR REASON. I THIN THAT'S CAUSED BY THERELATIVE INACTIVITY OF THE OFF SEAASON.
THIS MIGHT ALSO BE A GOOD TIME TO DO SOME TRIGGER PULL EXPERIMENTS AND LERBING IN VERY COSE DETAIL THE ACTION OF THESET TRIGGER EITHDOUBLE SET OR THE MORERARE SINGLE SET..

IN SHORT, THIS IS A GOOD TIME TO MAINTAIN AND learn ALL ABOUT YOURRIFLE AND HOW IT WORKS. IF YOU ONLY PLAY WITH YOUR RIFLE DURING HNTING SEASON, AFTER AN TEN OR ELEVEN MONTH SEPERATION,YOU WILL NOT BE THE SMOOTH DUDE YOU THINK YOU ARE WHEN YOU ACTUALLY GET OUT THERE WHERE IT COUNTS.

YOUR BRIDE WILL APPRECIATE YOUR DOING THIS STUDY AS IT WILL KEEP YO FROM BEING UNDRFOOT AND IN HE WAY.

DUTCH

Thanks for the reminder, your right,, it's time to pull'm out and check, re-fresh oils and condition the stock.
Thank you.

So far since dec I’ve made one pair of britches, one weskit and have started a gun build, sharpened all my knifes and axe and belt axe, sewed and waxed a new knife sheath. Did my ‘every few months’ swab and oiling of my guns.
