What is the dram equivelent in grains? :thanks:

16 ounces to the pound

16 drams to the ounce

1 lb = 7000 grains = 256 drams

1 dram = 7000/256 grains

avoir dupois

Do you still use pounds for weight in England?
I thought the Metric system was in use , there.
They tried to "convert" us to the Metric system. We rebeled. Must be our heritage.

Hmmmm... these are all weights! I thought a dram was a liquid measure... ie... "Dram Glass", "Give the Fiddler a Dram", etc.???

Jim aka kiltiemon (then there's the "Gill") :)
