I have read so many times I could download my GPR and hunt turkey w/ it.Aim for the wingbutts I was told.I use 100 grains volume 2f Goex for deer so 50 grains volume should be right I thought. I got excellent accurracy so I dicided that was it. Got a hen turkey at 30 yards. Hit a tad low. The patched .495 roundball literally tore through her! The exit wound destroyed almost the entire left breast, blowing a hole the size of my fist in her. I would NEVER have taken the shot had I'd known that would have been the result! :shake:If I ever do use a rifle again it will be my .36 cal.flintlock. Has anyone hunted turkey w/ a muzzleloading rifle and if sowhat charge did you use?
