Early vs later TC Hawken barrel stamp?

I read this somewhere, sometime, but was it the early TC Hawken barrel that was marked Hawken and the later marked only with the caliber without the Hawken name on it?
I am trying to figure out which rifle I have is older. The .54 is stamped Hawken and was made from a kit. The .50 is not stamped Hawken, and was not made from a kit.
Both were pawn shop finds so I can't put a date them but I should be able to figure out if one is early or late.

The barrel without the stamp hawkens on it were not made by t/c
early barrel 4 to 5 digits serial number are from the 70's to early 80's
barrels with the model of the gun stamp on it are t/c barrels

TC started roll stamping the model names (ie: Hawken and others) late in their manufacturing life...very late '80s to early '90s...

I bought mine brand new, in the box in 1974. Serial #946XX. There is no Hawken anywhere on it.

My serial number is K2969xx does the K mean Kit gun?

Yes on the K being a kit gun. Mine has a K5xxx number. Bought it around 1975 as a kit and still have it and shoot it regularly.

The early models '70s and maybe early '80's also have a fluted rear sight.
