This is my first post here and I am hoping to learn a bit more about a recently purchased pistol. I typically don’t collect arms from this era, but this came up at what I thought was a fair price, so I decided to expand my horizons.

I believe this to be a Model 1843 Cavalry Pistol produced for the East India Company. Is that correct? I would love to learn any other details as well.

Beautiful find, you definitely wanna make sure its safe to fire and see if you can get the caliber and search around for some loads for it if you plan on firing it.
