What size of leather are you using to dress the edges of your bags??? I know it has to be thin leather or is there something specific for the edge dressing. Thanks
Chris

You mean the 11/16" wide strips like what I use to give the edges a finished clean look like this? Usually a thin leather like deer works well but I have used all kinds. If its thin its used. :haha:

Yeap Swampy thats exactly what I was talking about, didn't know if there was something specific used or just really thin leather. Thanks

Mongo a lot of guys will also run a small dia, piece of sting or rope along the edge n sew the edge leather around it to give that nice look to it,sort of fills out the leather n gives it some meat.

I make most all of my bags from 3 oz leather so I just use the same leather I used on the bag.

Same here with lightweight leather. The advantage is that the edge will take dye just like the rest of the bag, rather than turning out different.

One bit of a tip, in case someone else hasn't tried it with the 3 oz leather rather than deer:

Wet the leather and fold it along the length like it will be on the bag. When you let it dry it's sure a lot easier to apply neatly.
