This one was inspired by the English bird's head trade knives shipped to the Spanish-Mexican SW in the early 19th century
Blade is hand forged 1080/84 - 7"
Bird's head grip is curly walnut with a pewter bolster, pewter & turquoise inlays, and brass tacks in the butt..

very nice top of the line craftsmanship I love it and hope to own something like it someday thanks for sharing

Man I really like that. I love what you done with the handle. The blade just looks like something old. Did you make the sheath? It's great looks like an antique. Overall just real nice!!

That's a fine looking sticker, Chuck, but you gotta start making uglier stuff so I can afford it. As always, great bead work too.

Truly outstanding, Gray Wolf. It appears as if this knife was time warped to the future. It seems as if it would melt right into your hand. I really like the blade shape, I've always thought the flat spine on a knife was begging to made into a second edge, and the sheath is no slouch either! Again , outstanding craftsmanship!

Glad ya'll liked the look see.
I did build the sheath as well - it's summer buffalo rawhide (buffalo sort of kind of sun tan and the summer hides will often have dark splotches under the hair) over a bark tan cowhide liner. The beaded cuff at the top is brain/smoke tan buckskin. The dangles are buffalo hair.
FWIW - when aging something - build it new first then age - if you age as you go along it IMO looks Hodgepodge.

I want one. Shinin' work, Gray Wolf. Up ta beaver I'd say!
ya could had one ya ole coon but instead ya wanted that ugly coat! :rotf: :rotf: :rotf: :blah:

I might just get one yet, ya Ol' Graybeard. :rotf: And the buffler tail holster ta boot. :blah:
