Wick, it looks good. All it needs is a Sterling neck chain. Once again your work amazes me...Bud

i have an elegant lady, wish i had the knife to go with her :hmm: -that knife and scabbard is beyond words   you sir are a master bladesmith for sure

Very pretty. Scale that blade up to 9.25" and you'd have a pretty good copy of the sandbar knife used by Bowie--Noah Smithwick claimed that Bowie had an ivory handle trimmed in silver added to his plain knife after the fight. You blade is a good image of the original Bowie blade shape.

That's really neat work Wick. :hatsoff:
Do you make the stirling silver furniture yourself or source it from elsewhere? It adds an elegant touch not normally seen on knives, a pleasant change. Did someone order it this way or did you have someone or some theme in mind when doing the work?
Smokey.

The fancy filigree is called gallery wire, and is easy to find from jewelry suppliers. From there I make up the ferrule with a piece of silver. Last year I wanted to make my wife something special and had everything on hand to make her a small neck knife and just kinda stumbled along until I ended up with what you see. On hers I used an antique mother of pearl grip I bought at a flea market in the seventies for five bucks. It had a silver ferrule, but the silver was damaged so I just made my own.

Wick - looking GOOD! You're work as wlays is spot on.....Reminds me of the San Francisco "Bowies" by Michael Price and others - in fact I have several pics of that style - if you're interested drop me an email and I'll send them on to you.....

Thanks Chuck. Coming from you, I consider that quite a compliment. Your work just about knocked me out the first time I saw it.

And right back at you Wick :hatsoff: !
BTW - my email is [email protected] - I love those Will & Finck and M. Price Bowies and IMO they'd be right up your alley (and they have good collector interest.... )

Nice work, I really like it. I'd love to see some photos of the build process.
