The single barrel shotgun at Pecatonic has my interest for the moment. The only pics are the stock. Anyone have experience with these. Any input appreciated. I've got a fusil coming in about a week. Would like to have a single barrel shotgun in 12 ga.

What Comfortably said. And do not be afraid of damascus barrels. A sound damascus barrel is not the hand grenade that some people claim.
Shopping for a used gun is easy. Shopping for a particular sort of used gun not so much so.
Invest in lighted arrow nocks. They are not a lot of money and they fit down most any barrel so you can see the bore. If you find one that excites your interest, ask the owner/seller if he can pull the barrel for closer examination. See if it "rings". I'd not be too put off if he refuses. Hours of manning the table at a gun show erodes my opinion of my fellow man.

I completely agree with them both.
A good Damascus barrel is NOTHING to be afraid of.

For decades ammo companies loading smokeless shells put the Large, Bold warning about shooting Twist Barrels. This scared many folks, so to this day.

But the ammo companies were talking about using Smokeless powder in a twist barrel, not the failure of the twist barrel alone.

My William Moore 12 bore shotgun has been used by me plenty, and who knows how many owners it has had.

It has Fine Laminated Steel Barrels, rings like a church bell, and I've loaded it often with an 70gr fffg and 1 1/8oz shot.

Often you'll find plenty of hard used guns before a good one. Here's my favorite.
