Hello All
I have orderedd a Chambers English Sporting Rifle kit, with a L&R lock as I am left handed, so now the long wait commences. In the mean time, I wonder if anyone on the forum has completed one of these kits? or not yet completed... or sort of started......
Photos, hints, any suggestions resulting from the build would be much appreciated.
Best regards
Ross

Nice choice!
I haven't done one myself, but I've admired it whenever I've visited Mr. Chamber's site.
Looks like a fine hunting rifle.

Please post photos and keep us up to date with the build!

I've had one sitting in the closet for about a year, (finishing other projects for sale). I've got the barrel, lock inletted. That's about as far as I've gotten. Hope to get back to it when I get a couple more finished up.

Should be a nice handy little rifle.

I bought an English sporting rifle last year from a freind who wasn't using it. He got the parts at Freindship before Chambers started selling the kits. It is the same gun as well as I can tell. It has a Getz 31in. swamped bbl and Chambers round faced lock. Walnut stock. This gun is a pleasure to carry being very handi in the woods. The wide butt makes recoil a gentle push. I use 90grs 2f with .530 Hornaday rb and pillow ticking patch. When the 2f gets shot up plan on using 3f. I really enjoy this rifle and hope that you will enjoy yours as well. Let us know how it does. Good hunting!

Just a by the way, the gun that they show in their advertisements (and in a magazine article) was built by Bob Harn, and it is NICE. He's quite a good craftsman, and he is not credited in the ads.

Hey, Mike, what is the problem with the buttplate?
