I am curious as to how to enhance the engraving on my Walkers cylinder. I finished it with Kibbler Jax black. I like the finish but would like to find a way to make the engraving stand out

The rolled engraving on Colt repros is so shallow and sometimes incomplete it's best not to highlight it at all. Paint and the Bonanza kits will rub out of most of the engraving leaving a partially filled engraving.

I wonder if a glass bead blast job would make it pop. I usually finish my rust blue projects with sand paper then 70 grit garnet sand blast and then glass bead blast. It leaves a flat sheen finish that might make engraving stand out. You want to try a test piece first to see how it works. Just and idea to think on.

I think that's an interesting method. If you can reduce the sheen just on the exterior surface then the interior of the engraving will stand out due to reflecting more light. There might be other methods if you can't bead blast.
