Order a copy of Smoke and fire, also check out your NMLRA field rep. He can be found listed in Muzzle blasts. He should be up on what's in your area.Also Muzzle blasts lists charter clubs shoots every other month.You nearest club should have the information you are seeking. We are out there just find us!

go to Virginia Muzzle Loading Rifle Association and look under links.
The closest to you would be Bull Run in Manassas and Shenandoah Long rifles in Middletown Va.

As mentioned, Shenandoah Longrifles is a good group with several pre 1840 events each year. Olde Virginia Primitive Rifles in Surry has two great pre 1840 camps each year, complete with two bands! James River is a BP shooting club, also in Virginia.
