I got it man....
I got more rifles than I can carry to the range and I just can't bring myself to sell a couple off. Each one has a reason to keep it that equals "wahhh I don't want to" !
And to make matters worse, I find myself making excuses to buy another one.

Seems to be no cure.

Cleaned my guns today just as a preventative maintenance thing. Spouse was commenting I got too many guns. Then I went and spouted off about their increased value in the current market....I shouldn't have said that I think. I saw dollar signs in her eyes. Think I better hide the keys to the gun safe in some other place.

You got it bad.
unlike most addictions MLaholics can not be cured and withdraw cause profound unhappiness and feelings of loss.
Hide your guns, and take your lady out to dinner any time she mentions selling.
Be sure to change the subject first

about 5 years ago we had a forest fire heading our way so close we could see the flames while sitting in the recliner.
wife and i had his and hers Jeep Grand Cherokees. hers got filled with pictures, old bibles and such.
mine had 4 layers of rifles, quilts, rifles, etc.
we evacuated to our neighbors alfalfa field to watch the show.
wife commented "we have too much stuff"
kinda miss some of those pictures!

You probably just need a bigger truck, may I suggest either a Peterbilt or Kenworth and then you can add trucks as needed.

Onliest thing about saving gun stuff I've learned is that junk remains junk for the most part. Tastes and market prices will vary, but a "pos" saved for 50 years don't suddenly become a "mint, unfired" cased jewel of historic interest (unless you become an object of historic interest).

Time to "thin the herd" is an individual thing. If, when a thing no longer provides a bit of nostalgic pleasure, isn't what you enjoy using, or realistically you don't forsee any rise in value, replace it with something. Hindsight is always 20/20. Better to enjoy passing things along while you're alive than leave it for an estate sale.

I
My father told me, "Anyone that doesn't have 30 guns is underprivileged." Did he mean total guns? I error on the side of each category.
I believe a man should have more guns than his age in years. I'm a senior citizen and have the next decade or so already covered:thumb:

Only one gun safe? Are you really American? Thort most of you guys had at least three, maybe four walk-in gun safes......... Even I have THREE here in UK.

Mind you, they are not very big.
