This is a really beautiful hand crafted longrifle by well known Illinois craftsman and shooter Ken Papesh. He was very active in the Joliet Muzzleloaders. This rifle is .45 and has a 38” swamped barrel. Very light and well balanced. I guess this would be an Early Virginia pattern. Bore is in excellent condition as would be expected from the gun of a serious shooter. The highly figured Maple stock is heavily embellished with lots of exquisite relief carving and is in VG+ condition. Unmarked lock. Mounted in age mellowed brass that gives it the look of an antique rifle. LOP is 13.75”. This would be a spendy rifle to have built now. Asking $2000 + shipping. More photos on request.

Its an early Lancaster pattern, carved with Isaac Haines' "signature" 3 interlocking scrolls. The hardware and both toe and forestock moldings are Lancaster charateristics.
