A friend made me a shooting pouch and sent it to me as a gift. I asked what I could do in return and he mentioned that he always wanted a fancy turn screw for his guns. So I made this. The blade is machined from 1144 "stress proof" steel.

A Turnscrew of that quality belongs in a fancy cased double or suite of arms !

I like to use the stress proof steel for making tools and parts. I bought about three hundred lbs of bar ends about thirty years ago and have been using it ever since.I was at work on the midnight shift when an ice storm hit and I bought the bar ends for weight to help me get home. It worked well and I have been using some ever since.
