G'day,

One of the nicest commercial handgun replicas is the FWB History Number 1 - the Underhammer. :imo: A few are now being used for the BP target competitions in Australia.

The distributor for FWB (and Pedersoli for that matter) Graeme Forbes of Forbes Wholesale dropped me a note to say the FWB Rogers & Spencer replica has arrived. They are not cheap in Australian terms. The recommended retail price is A$1995.00. I wish I had a few bob to spare at the moment as I would love to own one of these. ::

If any arrive on your shores and you like revolvers have a look at it. :m2c:

Cheers from down under

Yes Bob,
For some years, at the coastlines of Sweden, FWB Roger& Spencers has been found. They are expensive but mostly prefered by top BP target-shooters. Also curious if they have reached US. ::
ARILAR

Probably be about $1.29
Sorry Rebel,
As I recall it has the dollar dropped like a stone. Maybe $12900 is more like it? :hmm:
ARILAR :: :thumbsup:

G'day RussB

You may like to try this address. It is the currency convertor used by the Australian Foreign Exchange Services. Their price conversion shows A$1995 = US$1,562.

I would think it would be cheaper for you to contact the Feinwerbau agent in the USA for a local price. If no luck then our agent is Graeme Forbes. http://www.forbesws.com.au

Graeme is a mad BP enthusiast as well and will often be seen at the range.

arilar...I "think" I heard lately that the Euro was up to about $1.30 Americanish. This is certainly going to have a impact on the guns we import.
I'm told the Lyman rifles (made by InvestArm in Italy) have had three price increases this year....Mid South is now just under the $300.00 mark for a GPR "kit" shipped. Just over a year ago, if I remember correctly, they were barely over $200.00 and change shipped.

I have no clue what the A Dollar is doing, I'm sure we get things from Australia other than wool, but danged if I can think of what would be.
Aussie Bob, can you help me out here? What is the big thing we get from "down under"...besides wonderful dreams of ever getting to go to the Out-Back.

Russ

BTW, Rebel...I understand you can get an "original" patch knife for $1.29 from one of our forum members, could be hearsay...I don't know much about it

Ooops! Didn't realize you were posting. Would you answer "part2" of that question.....

RussB,
I dont know so much about that "Euro-thing". In Sweden we are occupied counting exchange-rate between $USD and our currency, Swedish Crowns. We didnt join Euro-money :peace:.
Matter a fact, I bought a nice original Zouave .58 when visiting Indiana last summer ::. Now 6 months later the same rifle had been exactly so much cheaper in Swedish Crowns that I gained NOT paying tax and dues when I got home in August with the rifle :curse:  It seems you cant cheat justice in the long run .
ARILAR :: :thumbsup:

G'day RussB

What does Australia send to the States?

Pretty girls - too many are marrying you bloody yanks. :curse:

Secondhand firearms as your buying power has been so strong. You were 50 cents to our dollar only a few months ago.

Beef, lamb, cars, beer, wine, minerals and a hell of a lot more. We also now have the Free Trade Agreement with you. BTW if you like game then get some kangaroo meat. It is very low in fat and tastes real good. :imo: Like most game, do not overcook it. I like it rare. Use it where you might have used beef steak. Over here we can get it in our major supermarkets. Where I live it can be got on the hoof - so to speak. :winking:

The only bloody thing we can't export to you on a permanent basis is our anti-gun Prime Minister and his even greater anti-gun wife. Please ask your bloke George to get Little Johnny to come over permanently. :D

Cheers from down under
Aussie Bob

PS: With the dollar in our favour for a change I have been buying all of my supplies from the US mail order suppliers. It is a pity that some of your major ones do not export. I find Cains Outdoor excellent however for my BP tools and consumables.

Very interesting Bob.

The one big thing you forgot about your Exports is a wonderful chain of eateries know here as "The Outback".
My favorite places for suds and steaks! Lots of that "Down Under" beer...which I seem to have a taste for.

I've always wondered about eating Kangaroo. But I can't think Kangaroo without thinking Captian Kangaroo.... a TV personality who hosted a kiddie show for younsters years ago...I think I'll have to pass on the Kangaroo, at least until that memory has faded a bit.

You mentioned Graeham Forbes....I read a lot of his writings on the Long Range Muzzle Loading forum. Interesting fellow. Quite different from our own Perersoli rep. (Dick Trenk)

Too bad about that firearms act. I often see that as a fine example of just what can go wrong....in a heart beat! And how many innocents are afftected! Who would ever have believed you folks would be in this mess today? :curse: :curse:

I wrote Feinwerkbau in Germany some time back. Their reply said Beeman's (of airgun fame) is the US distributor.

Tried to e-mail (Beeman's) them but didn't get much back. I think their retail outlet is a subcontract of some kind.

I did not call them, maybe that would be better.

I purchased one from Nygord Precision very nice weapon. Also Brenzovich fire arms and training center lists it.
This was last year and it ran about $1100.00 with accesories.
Don't have the web addresses right off hand but most dealers that sell the match rifles/pistols should be able to get it.
Mr Nygord was very proffesional and pleasant to deal with.
Both dealers are in the south west AZ TX.
Of couse the pricing was before the dollar tanked against the Euro.

Oddly enough, they caught a roo in Wisconsin a couple weeks ago. People were afraid to report it because they would be made fun of. The sheriff thought it got loose from someone transporting it. I assume from a wooden crate like in the Bugs Bunny cartoons.
