Hey all, when is was a kid I read a series of books I believe took place around the French Indian War time period. They were hard to find even then (40 years ago now) so I don't think they were by Cooper. Does anyone have a clue about these? I'm sorry about the lack of details but it was a LONG time ago.
Thanks much.

I have the book Northwest Passage by Kenneth Roberts
covers Rogers Rangers during that time frame, published in 1937,maybe you remember it as well? Last of the Mohicans is a good read though

Joseph Altsheler has a series starting with "Hunters of the Hills". Don't know if that's what you are looking for but the Kindle edition is free on Amazon.

Does James Fenimore Cooper ring a bell?

In 1823, he published The Pioneers, the first of the Leatherstocking series. The series features Natty Bumppo, a resourceful American woodsman at home with the Delaware Indians and their chief Chingachgook. Bumppo was also the main character of Cooper's most famous novel, The Last of the Mohicans (1826). Written in New York City, where Cooper and his family lived from 1822 to 1826, the book became one of the most widely read American novels of the 19th century.
