I finally got rid of the ugly lyman fiber optic sights off my deerstalker. I absolutely hated them. I love the rifle but for 2 years I used it like that. I had a extra set of Thompson center hawken rear sights and my friend from the forumn sent me the bead front sight for the lyman. I was going to put the peep on there but for the type of hunting I do and hunting hogs at night this is the set up I wanted. I wear a night headlamp turn it to red I can see both rear and front sights the white really stands out, I have nighttime red hunting lights used for hog hunting here in Texas. now ill use this and my white mountain carbine with a 535 grain no excuse bullet and 80 grains of pyro select. this combo is proving to be a great combination I also like the great plains 425. the lyman also shoots patched roundballs very well and very close to the same impact at 25 yards as my conicals, I always carry some 530 balls and .015 patch incase I need a follow up shot as they are a lot cheaper then conicals
