I just got an email from our caribou guide today & he included a link to The Syracuse, NY Post Standard newspaper. He had sent a pic and little description to one of the papers writers & it got into the paper on December 11th! Here's the link & the picture if anyone's interested:

Oh yea.....I know people will want to know, so I'll post it now.
The gun is a .54 & I used a Hornady swaged .530 round ball, Wally World tick patch, & 80 grains of FFg Goex. I thought that the shot was about 40-50 yards, but John (my guide) thought that it looked a lot longer. The ball passed completely through the animal & he only went about 20 yards before he laid down. I moved in on him too quick, though, and he got up & went about another 100-120 yards (out of sight into the bush) before he expired. I don't think that it was really necessary, but John had his dog run the track to it. That was interesting, watching the dog.
