I have shot Civil War era artillery for over 45 years and belong to a unit that shoots full scale rifled guns ( 3.0 and 2.9 inch Parrott's).. We are located in Minnesota and find ourselves at a distance from the one long distance shoot I know of in Tennessee.. (Gallant Pelham shoot). Distance and time requirements make it a tough one to attend.
Is anyone aware of a mid range ( 600 yards minimum) that would offer a safe situation to use solid zinc projectiles .. located in the upper Midwest Region? Main issue is that these projectiles can travel an amazing distance (over a mile) after target impact if there is a ricochet so vetting a safe spot is difficult.
