Was wondering what a good fingerweaving material would be ....I am just learning but I got some wool yarn...I think it has too much stretch to it....is there something else that would be good for sash..gaitors...and straps?

Close is number, or size 3 crochet cotton yarn. Not as tightly spun as 8/4 warp yarn. Not many colours available, but it does turn up in thrift stores. Walmart does carry it of course. The #3 will not make as beautiful a strap as Short Arm's using 8/4 cotton warp.

Another option is cheap yarn. You can practice on a few straps and it will not cost you much. Then when you have a feel for the process then send your money on wool or cotton thread or yarn. When I started weaving my first five straps were made from crochet thread.Practice Practice and have fun.
