Finish ..Truoil/Turpentine question???

I seen a question someone asked of a finish on a posted gun.I believe the maker used a 50/50 turpentine trueoil mixture rubbed with denim.. :huh: is this correct?? Are they're any special stock preperations for this. I was thinking cherry stain then finishing with this mixture any suggestions??? :hmm:

It was probably me.

Sand it to your liking and make sure the stock is free of dust and oil. Stain it using whatever type you like in whatever manner is prescribed. Apply oil/turp..rub, rub, rub.
