Well, I finally finished my winter project! It's a Pecatonica T/C replacement stock (fact. 2nd) with a T/C Hawken barrel & trigger, lock from a Lyman trade rifle, with a New Englander hammer, CVA guard, buttplate & nosecap from TOW and the silver inlays from LCS. I used Aqua Fortis stain & 7 coats of tung oil followed by one coat of butchers floor wax.
This was my first attempt at relief carving, so I kept it simple. AND- the silver star inlay underneath the ramrod channel is there to cover a hole I made by not drilling straight!

Really nice! :)

If that's your first attempt at relief carving you're a natural. Nice lines. The silver star under the forearm is a very nice look...It probably gave you a near heart attack to see that drill bit poke through. :shocked2: Always funny how things like that can end up for the better!

All I can say is you made very good use of a "second" stock and made an exceptional rifle!
