Finished up this stock for a customer recently. Originally came to me in really really good solid condition, except for the stained poly finished that made the wood look really rough. The brass also was sprayed with a poly, so buffing it out wasn't even possible.

I polished the flame walnut up to 2000 grit then added 14 hand rubbed coats of birchwood casey genuine oil and 3 coats johnsons paste wax. The brass I buffed out to a mirror shine as well.
