For those of you that weave your own straps or buy them and finish them what kind of ends do you put on them? I have been thinking on the straps, of making a leather end as opposed to just braiding some of the thread from the piece, any ideas and or pictures would be very much appreciated

Cookie,
Check 2-bellys post in the phote section
under a few pouches (Post#290761) He shows several with leather end straps.I sure he would share any info he has you mite need if you PM'd
him. I hope this helps with your question. :hmm:

The fringe end of the wovwn straps look good hanging down, but I don't like the fringe ends of the strap hanging down and constantly getting tangled and in my way, so I cut the strap off at both end to the length that I need the strap to be and then sew on leather tabs for attaching to the powder horn.

Here's a bag I made with an Inkle woven strap. I used wool rug yarn for the strap and I finished it with leather to cover the end. The rings are made from #4 copper wire soldered together and the bag was leftover scrap leather from a pair of chaps.
