Stumpy,
Is this the same program the NMLRA was supposed to start, or is this different? Whatever happened to the NMLRA's program for a certificate for harvesting a deer with a ML?

Similar, but unique. Here are not allowed internalized ignition systems, optics, or $10 entry charges. :haha:

Can't say what happened to their program. It was flawed at birth and may have suffered crib death.

Love the Avatar. So how are things in old Mauch Chunk, PA. :winking:

Re: avatar..just having some fun.
Re: old Mauch Chunk...the indian is still here...and they think their history started with the Packers and the coal miners. Most of them don't know about Ft Allen, a F&IW fort right in the middle of the county. I think I'm the only Rev War re-enactor in the county.

PS> I can't find any reference to this organization on the web.

You're there. :rotf: Post your photos and stories and enjoy those of the other hunters. This is the place.

Firelock Hunting Society

Here’s your opportunity to join an organization that has no dues, holds no meetings, has no officers and has but one requirement: you must have harvested live game with a muzzleloading firearm which uses an external ignition system (i.e. flint lock, cap lock, wheel lock, match lock) and is sighted without electronic or optical glass aids. You are encouraged to post stories and snapshots in the Muzzleloading Hunting section here and, to commemorate your achievement, this forum has been offered a special discount by the firm which produces pewter pins for other wildlife related groups and hunting societies. (see letter at bottom from Rod Harrison) .

The fairness of the chase is up to your own personal principles and there are no size requirements or minimum standards to be met. Every animal is a trophy and every meal a feast. Small game, large game, upland, waterfowl, any legal game creature is acceptable.

The purpose of the Society is simply to offer you the chance to share your thrill of the hunt and joy of the prize among your appreciative peers. Your name will be temporarily registered in a place of high honor in the great nebulous ether of the World Wide Web until such time as the old files are overwritten. Certificates, wall plaques and taxidermy mounts are available to you through your own diligence and at your own expense.

The other important, the most important, place is the memories inside your own head and I don't have the link for that.
