Here is my first attempt at a center seam sheath. I used some left over leather that I had to build the center seam sheath for a knife that I made last year. I thought at first of making a neck knife with it and then if I do not like then I could then attach it to or make a strap, bag or belt knife from it.

I did not know how long to make the top part. I looked at a herd of pictures and they showed all different lengths so I kind of chose the middle.

Will it pass muster?

It looks fine to me. I like the dagger too, is that your work? On the sheath I would be tempted to make a short piece to cover the tip, an inch or so, just for protection.

I'm impressed. I also like how you designed it where you can pull a couple inches of the leather strap to the rear of the sheath and put that loop over the top of your handle to give you an extra point of retention.

It was an old leather handled dagger that was in the bottom of a box for several decades. It got wet and rodents chewed the handle off. I scraped off some of the rust and it started to have a forged look. So I cleaned it up and made an antler handle for it.

Well done.

I do feel the leather trim piece makes it look like something from the middle ages.

Besides that, being such a thin long blade, I'd definitely try adding some heavy leather or rawhide to protect yourself in the unlikely event of a fall.

That is a good point. I thought of that too but you have reinforced it. I may look at some rawhide.
