Sitting bored in the hotel room I found a way to occupy myself. I had bought some mattress ticking to try as patch material but decided to make a sack/bag instead. Really funny what you can do with a throw away needle from a travel sewing kit.

Here are the pictures - what do you say?

I like it ! Maby soak it in some tea or coffee to give it a little patina and its ready to go ! Looks like it would make a really nice game bag.

I agree with soaking it in coffee, or take it to the local repair shop and let all the mechanics handle it. :hmm: Ya gotta make it look used! You didn't mention what size it is. Good work!

how well would the "Coffee Stain" hold up if you were carrying this bag and it started to rain. interested to know if you have actually tried this method as i have a knapsack that i might try it on.

Thank you gentlemen - so I will carry it and see how it will hold and look after a while.

The size is about 12x18 inches.

Well I reckon it could bleed a little but I dont think it would much. You could always grease it with tallow and beeswax too then it would be water proof and have one heck of a patina. Its all about experimentation I geuss. But I aint no expert, just like stuff that looks old and well used.

I don't know - guess I'll have to make a field test and get really bored
