Took Dad out this morn' on a short hunt thru some river bottom woodlots, he saw one small doe he let pass as he figured there is a lot of season left,at 77 he is in no hurry to end the years hunt so soon. I heard one circle around me, still lots of leaves and visbility is pretty limited in the brush, Took out the Fusil De Chase ..but no Fusil De Catch...was a nice foggy morn with a lot of squirrels rustling around in the trees,(left shot pouch at home) leaves gently spiraling donward and the smell of fall in the air, a great morning without having to bloody the knife...

My favorite time of year...nothing to me as beautiful as sitting in the fall woods with all the colors and wildlife...

Nice, ain't it?
It's an overload of the senses that non-woods people will never experience.

Ever heard a Red-tail screech while it's huntin' at first light? It does something to ya that you'll never forget...Bud

Hello from Germany!

You are right the coming autumn is really nice in the forest. But here for the hunter there is nothing to see. The so called "leavefall" let the roes not move very much and if so only in the night. I have 3 baits, all are eaten, but when sitting there both in the morning and in the evening no roe is seen. They come in the night.Hope that we'll get soon some frost.

Regards

Kirrmeister
