Greetings.... This is my first long rifle build in 26 years. I'm going to give one to each of my grandkids so they remember their grandpop and their American heritage. The build took about 100 hours. Next on my list is to learn engraving to put the finishing touch on it. It has a grade 4 curly maple stock on it, .45 cal. 42 inch long Green Mt. battel on it, large Siler lock. cheers Paul

I want one too. You could adopt me.

A wonderful legacy to leave for the grand children and beautifully done.

GrandPa Paul is that you? It's me Haleh your grandson!!

Nice!

Haleh.

In the day and age of black guns and high cap mags, a rifle like this is truely a thing of beauty. Great job Paul

I just got my DNA report back and you and I are a match! Do I need to send you my lop, etc?

That is a real beauty! :hatsoff:

It's amazing what someone can do with 100 hours of their time! What a fantastic gift to your grandchildren.

Those are some lucky grandkids. Very nice job and they'll always appreciate them. I'd go so far as to say that they may become those kids' very favorite worldly possession some day.

Paul, Nice job. Your grand children will be so proud. Call Llloyd G. He'll be happy to give you engraving lessons.
Oh, I've got 7 grands and don't think I have enough time left to make em all guns.

BTW, just how many "L"s are in Lllloyd?

I had a chance to see the new book about engraving by John Shippers this weekend. The book costs about $100 appears to be worth every penny. I didn't buy a copy because I was buying something that makes noise but I thought the book was very well laid out and could make an expert out of any beginner.

The book is available through the NMLRA.
