The birds were not gobbling, but I knew where it was likely to run into them. I started slipping using the call to cover my noise. A 20 pounder with a 9 inch beard and 1 inch spurs stopped to look just a little too long at 40 yards. The shot rolled him. I was shooting a Trapper. The load was 90 grains of 3f Goex under a hardcard, pre-lubed cushion wad, 120 grains volume of number 6's, and a thin over shot card. Took me two years to get one with the Trapper. Hopefully the next will be a little easier! The load work I did this spring has paid off with a very nice pattern at 30 yards. I don't know how to post a picture here, but I have a picture of the bird and the gun.

That's outstanding...I'm wrapping up my second spring season with a .62cal flinter but have yet to fire a shot...had a couple jakes at 60-75 yds but no closer.

Congratulations of your hunt !!
