This is the first rifle I have built, it is a Traditions Kentucky in Percussion.50.

Next build I am going to try is going to be a Pedersoli Kentucky in .45 percussion.
 
Can you share with us your faux curly maple striping method?

Did you color the brass? It looks like she has some age to her.

I used rebar in white vinegar to make a stain. Took about a month or two to dissolve. I used an artist's brush for the stripes and let it sit overnight. Then wiped the entire stock with the same solution. Let it sit for awhile then washed with a baking soda solution. After drying several coats of rung oil hand rubbed in.
 
How much rebar and how much vinegar to dissolve in two months?

I have some rusty crusty rebar and 6% vinegar.


P.S. Just noticed the hinges on your stand. I like that. Portable.
 
About 2 two inch pieces in a pint jar of white vinegar , loosely capped as it will kind of slow boil.

The barrel was cold browned with homer dangler browning solution from TOW.
